RAC Fuel Watch report for August shows the price of petrol and diesel increased by more than 2p a litre for second consecutive month. The average price of petrol now stands at 117.51p and diesel at 118.37p. Tropical Storm Harvey responsible for last minute rise in the price of petrol.

RAC Fuel Watch data for July shows fuel prices increased for the first time since April. Petrol and diesel both went up by nearly 1p a litre. Litre of unleaded still 5p lower than 2017 high of 120.45p. Diesel more than 6p a litre cheaper than 2017 peak of 122.35p

Pump prices rose by more than a penny a litre in April, but a drop in the price of oil in the second half of the month and a jump in the value of the pound means retailers are now in a position to pass on a cut to motorists imminently.
